At the age of five, I became the first chair violinist for the local youth symphony. During childhood, I also learned guitar and bass from my grandfather, a veteran radio musician from the 1930s. In junior high school, I began playing brass instruments (trumpet, trombone, tuba, and french horn). In 1992 I accepted a full scholarship to play french horn and mellophone at The University of Georgia. I also began gigging with local bands (guitar, bass, vocals, percussion) and engineering. At present, I play solo acoustic shows and gigs at several national music festivals.
