Zach's Music Lessons (Guitar, Bass Guitar)
by Taylor Robinson Music
Macon, GA
Years of Experience: 1 Year Teaching Experienc Location Options: In Home, In Webcam Travel Radius: 30 Genres: Rock, Blues, Country, Acoustic, Pop, Metal, Funk, Hip Hop Age Groups: Children, Young Adult, Adult, Under 6 Years Instruments Taught: Guitar Lessons,Bass Guitar Lessons Overview: Greetings fellow toe tapper, my name is Zach, but I also have gone by my stage name, Pyg, on the flippity. Guitar and Bass are the two instruments I have fallen into grace with, playing for over 13 years, and teaching now for a little over a year. I would humbly say my level of teaching is centered around beginner to intermediate, but would like to work my up to teaching at an advanced level. What makes music my passion, is it being an infinite source of imagination and freedom. Though can be mathematical, music to me is about feeling and understanding what you like as a musician/listener. I taught myself to play through learning my favorite songs and improvisation. The freedom to feel out each note or chord, and apply it, keeps me in a healthy space of wanting to learn, and finding the metaphorical light, in the dark. The catharsis from playing or listening alone can be something magical, but the best part to me is playing with/listening to others. I have been playing in bands, recording in studios, and preforming live since 2011. I typically play in rock, funk, metal, hip hop, and pop styles, but really like to Frankenstein genres. Not in order, some of my influences would be: Matt Mingus, Flea, John Frusicante, Stevie Wonder, Kurt Cobain, and Victor Wooten. My approach to teaching is centered around ones interests regarding music. What style do you like? What musician do you want to sound like? What are your favorite songs to listen to? I believe using this incentive of actual interests, actually gives somebody a reason to get better. Especially after they see they do have the potential to get better. Homework usually consists of listening homework (to songs and your own playing), and muscle memory exercises. The two main instruments I use is a Modulus Funk Unlimited, or Ibanez RG Series 7-string, and both are plugged into a Scarlet Solo user interface, Tech 21 Sans Amp Driver D1, and sometimes a Fender rumble 500 amp. Formal Education: Graduated Starr's Mill High School in 2018, and acquired my Associate's Degree from Kennesaw State University in 2020. Performing Experience: Before I moved to Georgia when I was 13, I played in my first band in Florida, called The Ekos. From 2, we played about 4 shows. Two at a coffee shop, one at a bar for battle of the bands, and the last was on a beach stage. After moving, I got together with some more musicians and joined a band called All there is, around 2015. From then to now, we've venues such as Furnace 41, Sweetwater 420 brewery, Smith's Olde Bar, and Purgatory at the Masquerade. Experience Teaching: I have a little over a year of teaching experience, but for me, there is not one just rule into teaching. Everybody being uniquely different, means you get a customized way of how you learn. I make sure to ask lots of questions in order to understand you better as a person, and musician, to maximize your potential.

Jon's Music Lessons (Guitar)
by Taylor Robinson Music
Macon, GA
Years of Experience: 1 Location Options: In Studio, In Home, In Webcam Travel Radius: 19 Age Groups: Children, Young Adult, Adult, Under 6 Years Instruments Taught: Guitar Lessons Overview: Hey there! My name Is Jon. Stage name was JMIDD and now is Jon Lyric. Music has been my passion since I was a child. My dad's group was inducted in the Chriatian music hall of fame, so I grew up around their stages and big crowds. Dad put a guitar in my hand at age 8 and I became addicted. I led worship for my church and my high schools praise snd worship team growing up. I've only taught one 8 year old for guitar lessons. However, the thing I bring to the table is simply that through my 20 plus years in the industry, I've found a way to kinda expedite how to learn chords. Instead of it being frustrating which it will be at times finding a fun way to learn, no matter your age : Can I rip and shred scales like Jimmy hendrix? No. I'm a rhythm guitar player that focuses on fun chord progressions and distinct strum patterns. Focusing on teaching you your chords, frets, capo work, etc. A fun goal I always strive for is to get you to where you are the band member everyone wants to work with. : I do hip hop and electronic dance music professionally. I've been on stage in front of sold out venues with alot of famous people you may know. I love being on stage. I don't say thay to brag, it's just that experience and excitement that I want every student to feel when we put those guitars in our hands. Those lights and the crowds? I put that passion in my guitar. I would love to work with you all! Cheers -LyriC

I'm Bain, and I am a 24 year old musician local to Macon, Georgia. I have been playing guitar for a little over 12 years now, and I currently play semi-professionally in a band here. I have been captivated by the guitar for as long as I remember and I continue to have a passion to learn everything there is about this instrument. My roots are rock, blues, jam bands, and reggae. I have been developing a teaching method that I believe can teach anyone how to play the guitar, regardless of experience! More importantly, I want my students to learn not just how to play a guitar, but how to play MUSIC. Many people teach how to play a song, but not many teach why you are playing that certain note or chord in the song. Bentley Date: 2017-06-12 15:16:30 Title: Heather K - Employee Review Body: Heather was a wonderful voice instructor for the Georgia College Joy of Music Program. She had a large group of students that she would schedule private music lessons for on a weekly basis. She was always attentive to her students needs and was quick to get back to them. In the event that she had to schedule a make up lesson, she would ensure that the day, time and location were communicated with all of her students. We had a recital once per semester for all of the students and she was a huge advocate for the students to be able to arrive at the performance location prior to the performance to get everything set up and ensure that they all had the opportunity to practice in that location. I would highly recommend Heather to your program. Name: Dr Rebecca Lanning Date: 2017-06-12 22:48:16 Title: Heather K Body: I've known Heather for approximately 10 years as a former student, then as a paid staff member in my church choir. In Heather, I find very developed teaching skills. She has the ability to break down information into manageable parts and help students put this info back together in a way that is appropriate for their individual skill levels. As a person, Heather has the highest commitment to personal ethics. She is a quality person, through and through. I would trust her with my own children, without hesitation. As a full proof of music, I've had a lot of students over the years. Heather is a standout. Name: Tracy Norris Date: 2017-06-19 20:36:30 Title: Mother of student taught by Heather K. Body: My 8 year old daughter, Abigail, was diagnosed two years ago with ADHD. The main symptom that interfered with her ability to function calmly on a daily basis was the verbalization of information that didn't need to be verbalized (e.g. my foot touched the couch, my hand touched the table, my elbow touched the wall). She found some peace with the help of medicine, but still felt a very real need to make noise - this transitioned into constant singing. It was evident to me that music and singing were becoming coping strategies for her, something I didn't want to take for granted. I was hesitant to sign her up for music lessons because I was worried a teacher may not understand how and why she needed music. However, Heather just happened to teach across the hall from my office at the university where we both worked. I watched her interact with students, parents, adult students, co-workers, etc. and was always very impressed with how she interacted with everyone. Abigail is very comfortable with Heather and enjoys hers lessons. Heather understands the primary reason I want Abigail to learn how to use music as a coping strategy and always keeps that first and foremost. She also always makes sure the lessons are fun for Abigail. I have been very impressed with Heather's willingness to accommodate our crazy schedule and ability to adjust focus when needed. I would highly recommend Heather for any position she applies for. I feel she is not just an exemplary educator, but also an effective healthcare provider. She will work well on her own or with a team and be an asset as an employee.
