On this 3-hour tour, you'll get a broad overview of the Central City. We'll make stops at Pittock Mansion and the International Rose Test Gardens. At Pittock Mansion, you'll get pictures of the best views of the city, and Mt. Hood if it's a clear day. You'll have plenty of time to smell the roses at the Rose City's most famous garden. Your expert guide will provide background on the sites and city history, while navigating through city traffic, so you don't have to. You'll meander through all of the major neighborhoods of inner Portland on both sides of the river while gaining views of 14 of Bridgetown's 29 notable bridges. It’s a weird city, but there are stories in every building, park and brick. We’ve organized our city’s best things -- and of course, it’s most complicated and conflicted, as well. In an ever-changing world we continuously change the story of the city. We walk about 2 miles/3 km. Much of Portland’s history can be told through the buildings and street layouts including the prioritization of parks in the city center. It’s not a dry history: full of back-room deals, early deaths and greed; and then there were hippies! How did Portland become the 1st city on the West Coast with a fine art museum? How did the city's early cultural reputation influence its mid-20th century; and how did it become such a lightning rod for racial justice protests? We'll discuss what was, is, and will be the soul of the city. Must be able to walk 1-2 miles

It's all about the bike ride! We spend more time riding in the neighborhoods Portlanders love, & always stopping to smell the roses. Start in the inner Eastside at 833 SE Main #124, where we will safely fit you for a bike and helmet, ready for a sweet 7-11 mile ride through a pretty residential neighborhood, to our favorite rose garden, into an art-heavy industrial district, across the sexy Tilikum Bridge, and onto Portland's waterfront. From there, it's a trip along the edge of downtown and more stories, before we head over another bridge back to our shop! Check out our new two-hour option! Easy riding, little hills, 5-8 miles. You'll visit most of the city's quadrants, ride over two bridges, and along the Willamette River. We'll visit almost-secret beaches, read poetry written in sidewalks and rocks, see public art of every shape, color and texture. And have you tried some of the city's best doughnuts or ice cream? Ever been interested in trying your hand at blowing glass? Join me in my flameworking studio and learn how to make your first piece of glass art with us! Borosilicate glass blowing is a unique art that uses a table-mounted torch to melt and manipulate glass. While more niche than traditional glass blowing, this type of flameworking offers participants a unique, hands-on artistic experience. Each student will be equipped with their own torch and will make several glass pieces with support from Brahim.

Portland is justly famous for both its craft roasted coffee and its doughy sweets -- ride and explore in a 4-6 mile bike tour. 10 a.m. daily. Bike, helmet, one doughnut and one coffee included! At our shop at 833 SE Main Street #124, we are also in the literal center of Portland’s craft coffee roasting icons (three of the city’s best roasters surround our block). We'll begin with coffee, tea or hot cocoa at a shop that roasts its own beans, and sample some single-origin coffee so we'll be ready for lots of sweets to come. The itinerary will vary based on shop hours and customer tastes, but we'll always tell the story of Voodoo Donuts. We'll always stop at at least two doughnut shops and one or two coffee shop depending on the group. Portland’s doughnut scene isn’t just about eating pastries; it’s also about the culture that makes it possible. Did you know the doughnut-loving Homer Simpson was based off a Portlander? Which came first, the Homer doughnut or the city’s doughnut boom?

Learn to love Portland like a local does with this food, shopping and sweet treat tour, about 2 miles A stroll through the culture district for a warm drink, past some of the most eclectic shopping in the city, then through the heart of downtown to a charming cafe for an appetizer with culinary styles from Japan and Europe. From there through midtown past the country’s largest independent book store to one of our famous food cart pods for another shareable dish. We finish with a walk through the financial district to a decadent chocolate sampler dessert. And when looking around, we didn't see anything that truly celebrated donuts in all their glory, hence the Underground Donut Tour was born. This tour is for anyone who truly enjoys donuts. At each location, you'll be able to try a curated sample of one of that location's best donuts. Many locations offer vegan, gluten, or nut-free options, however, please make sure to let us know ahead of the tour, so we can make sure to highlight those specifically for you. From fiery deaths to watery graves: In this 1.5 mile cemetery walking tour, we weave what we know of the peoples who lived here for millennia with verifiable stories of recent centuries. We can only guess, based on our psychics’ readings and eerie coincidences we have observed, where people here before us feared to walk and canoe at night. As a wise person wrote, every story ends as a ghost story. Our ghosts are legion. We now call it Oregon; “ourigan” was ancestral home to hundreds of thousands. They have left a darkness here, expressed with stories from the earliest days of our written history to modern times. Starting with early disasters, we will tell ghost stories we have collected, from fiery deaths to those in the waters of nearby river; from self-inflicted to deaths brought by the state or a rich man’s guilt. Our route takes us through the inner eastside, where more of Portland’s disasters have happened than any other part of the city & where many early settlers are buried.

In the morning enjoy unparalleled scenic views from Portland Women’s Forum and Vista House, then gaze in wonder at towering waterfalls like Multnomah Falls and Latourell Falls. Mt. Hood is the highest summit in Oregon, and the fourth highest in the Cascades. It features waterfalls, glaciers, and historic Timberline Lodge, built by local artisans during the Great Depression, and featuring the longest ski season in the US. To the north of Mt. Hood is the Hood River Valley. You will get intimate with this area through a visit to Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood, fruit stands in the Hood River Valley, downtown Hood River (your opportunity for lunch and/or alcoholic beverages), and breathtaking stops in the eastern and western Columbia River Gorge (Multnomah Falls included). Your expert guide, with formal background in ecology and natural resources, will teach you about the natural and cultural history of the area, as you drive the Mt. Hood and Historic Columbia River Highway Scenic Byways. Pickup and drop-off at your hotel.

The early tour guest gets the spectacular views. We’ll pick you up in central downtown Portland, and swing by one of our favorite coffee roasters for a chance to pick up coffee (or tea). At OHSU, we’ll walk with you to the Aerial Tram. We’ll ride up this feat of Italian engineering up to the top as the early sun reveals the city’s glowing colors. Once there, depending on sunrise timing and weather, we'll watch the sun crest the horizon, or check out the city views in the early morning light. After we ride back to the bottom, we'll tell you the story of the bridge and its quixotic lights, and orient you to the city whose east-west divider lies before us. The Aerial Tram was built in 2006 to connect the main campus of Oregon Health Sciences University with the new neighborhood of the South Waterfront. We will be joining students and medical staff on their daily tram ride!

Gravel riding has taken the cycling world by storm. Prepare yourself for an urban forest adventure within the city. Ride from our shop in Old Town through the bustling Pearl District & Nob Hill as your guide highlights historical and cultural hotspots. Leave the city behind as you pedal into America’s largest urban forest – Forest Park. Carved into the slopes of the West Hills, cruise the stunning car-free gravel path which traverses the entire park and offers a scenic half-day trip all within city limits. The 11 mile bike and pedestrian path through the 5000 acre park is enshrouded with towering trees. Catch glimpses of the city below as you zip through the temperate forest. Return the way you came or head over the St Johns Bridge into North Portland for amazing views of the West Hills and the Willamette River from Overlook. 28 miles - This tour appeals to fit beginner and experienced gravel riders on our Carbon Gravel Bikes as well as new adventurers on our Gravel E-bikes.

The 80 miles of the Columbia River Gorge’s steep rocky sides offer some of the most spectacular scenery in the world: pounding waterfalls, eagles, century-old trees, ferns, flowers, ancient rocks. This half-day of exploring and meditating on wonders with very short hikes and visits to overlooks and vistas will have you gasping in awe. We'll visit waterfalls and overlooks, selected by our guides to include both the most iconic, like the unmissable Latourell Falls, a stunning plunge-style falls that is one of the most iconic in Oregon, and the special. Depending on weather conditions, this could include a few small hidden waterfalls and another spectacular plunge-style falls with columnar basalt. We operate rain or shine! We'll also tell you stories, not just of the geology and botany and the oft-repeated tales of pioneers and road-builders, but also the old stories we've learned, of gods and animal spirits and the Beaver princess tragically turned into a waterfall.

Immerse yourself in waterfall hiking in one of the most unique geologic formations in Oregon! Over the course of the three hours we are in the canyon, we will discovering South Falls' stunning amphitheater and history as the centerpiece of a failed attempt to become Oregon's first National Park. From here we will descend into the up-and-down trails that make up the gorgeous canyon, encountering century-plus-old trees, wildflowers in season, mosses, lichens, and mushrooms and a variety of fantastic rock formations. We will experience up-close encounters with some of the state's most unusual and impressive waterfall formations. On this hiking experience we will explore 4-6 waterfalls and enjoy snacks with the option to purchase a light breakfast or lunch from the cafe. Our hike will be between three and eight miles (5 - 13 km) depending on group energy and desire.

This is our favorite tour! One of the most unique experiences in the world, riding down the historic highway built for Model Ts with the spectacular Columbia Gorge unfolding beneath us. We transport our guests and bikes in comfortable vans, and our guides ride with our small groups for much of the ride. You'll get personal attention and the safest experience we can provide. Beyond the 180 years of pioneers and loggers, before the century-old highway, this was the land of people with a rich mythology. We tell the stories that have been told to us by the indigenous people as best we can. You'll visit waterfalls, with engaged hiking and a leisurely approach to the tour itinerary. We want you to enjoy yourself -- whether you are traveling alone or with a big group. Ages 13 and up. (We can accommodate much bigger groups traveling together, please reach out!) Please note there are cars that share the scenic highway.
