Embark on one of our most popular evening adventures to Chena Hot Springs Resort, a renowned Alaskan getaway just 60 miles from Fairbanks. Keep an eye out for moose, foxes, or beavers as you travel through the scenic interior. Your night begins with a guided tour of the Aurora Ice Museum, home to stunning ice sculptures and the famous ice bar, where you can optionally enjoy an Appletini in a hand-carved ice glass (21+). After catching your fish, We’ll prepare one of the fish you catch on-site into a delicious meal for each guest, which has been praised by many. • Minimum group size: 2 participants.

Join us as we capture Alaska in this all-inclusive 2-hour experience! Increase your chances of witnessing the Northern Lights from our prime Aurora viewing Mongolian Yurt, located outside of the city lights of Fairbanks. The layout of the property was specifically designed with the Northern Lights in mind giving us a beautiful unobstructed view of the Northern sky. Relax in our wood heated yurt and enjoy our hot cocoa bar or sip on some tea as you wait for Lady Aurora to grace us with her presence. Head out on a 1/2 hour mush through the frozen winter utopia and scout the trail at multiple vantage points to view the Northern Lights. Watch the sky dance amongst the stars as you travel through the black spruce forest, over ponds and through fields.

Chase the Aurora! This night time snowmobile tour combines the best of both worlds: snowmobiling and Aurora viewing! Why do nothing all night long while waiting for the Aurora? Save that kink in your neck, and hop on a snowmobile and chase the Aurora! Don’t forget to bring your cameras and tripods!

Reindeer are a truly remarkable part of Alaska's history, and on this experience travelers can learn more about these gentle creatures as they walk through the Boreal Forest.

This is a self drive activity, meaning you would need to handle your own transportation to and from our location. Dinner reservations start at 8:00pm for this activity, and included in your booking is a 3-course meal at Latitude 65. Alcohol is not included, but is available for purchase, as are additional add ons and appetizers.  After dinner, you can relax in our lounge space and utilize our free wi-fi while you wait for the Aurora Borealis to make an appearance. At 10pm our staff hold a nightly presentation discussing the science and folklore behind the northern lights, which is a free presentation.  When the aurora makes an appearance, our staff will inform you where to look! We also offer additional photography sessions at $60 per person.  The yurt closes at 2:00am, which is when you would need to depart the property. 

Nestled along the Chena River in North Pole, the Aurora Sphere offers a unique opportunity to witness the Northern Lights in Alaska’s only 360-degree transparent glass igloo. This extraordinary setting provides unobstructed views of the aurora as you sip on hot beverages and enjoy complimentary snacks. Explore the beauty of Alaska! Experience the true nature of Fairbanks and learn the fishing skills with a fishing expert on the Ice fishing tour. From November to March of each year in Alaska, the rivers and lakes freeze, and ice fishing is generally possible when the thickness of the ice reaches 8 to 10 centimeters. Ice fishing is the winter favorite for Alaskans. You’ll learn the fishing skill with a fishing expert. After catching the fish, the guide will also process a grilled fish for each guest on site, allowing you to taste the freshest fish, and then release the extra fish back to the snow lake. NOTE: Adults over 16 years old need to purchase a separate fishing license. You can either buy it online by youself or tour guide will guide you to purchase it at the local designated outdoor store.

Experience the splendor of winter in Alaska from the comfort of a warm railcar, complete with comfortable seats, large picture windows and onboard dining. The Aurora Winter Train travels between Fairbanks and Anchorage, making the southbound 12-hour journey on Sundays, as well as select mid-week departures (Wednesdays and/or Fridays) December through March. Flagstop service is provided along the 50-mile stretch of roadless backcountry south of Hurricane Gulch. While the Aurora Winter Train travels the same stretch of tracks as the summer Denali Star Train, the views are strikingly distinct; the vibrant colors of Alaska’s summer landscape give way to the quiet serenity of pristine snow.  On a clear day, a spectacular view of Denali rises into view above the Susitna River. Not only does rental clothing package but your clothing rental comes with Aurora Chasing info, websites and locations. We help you trip plan and discuss options going on around the area. Website links, videos, how to use the equipment instruction. Etc. WE also wash and clean gear between all uses. We keep many styles and sizes on hand so you can get the perfect fit. We designed this tour as an introduction to dog mushing for those who want to experience the activity beyond just riding in the sled. If you want to experience the rush of running your own dog team, this is your chance. You will meet the sled dogs in our kennel and get plenty of time to get familiar with your team. Your experienced dog mushing guide will present to you the basics of dog mushing, teach you how to put on a harness, and line up the sled dogs in preparation for take off. Each participant has a full 30 minutes of practicing on the sled runners, learning how to lean into the turns, breaking, and leading your dog team by voice command only. A second 30 minutes you are spending in the sled watching/studying your partner practicing. You will get great insight into the art of dog mushing and have plenty of time to take pictures of this great experience.

Nathan is a professional portrait photographer by trade, which is something you’d be hard pressed to find on any other Aurora tour in Fairbanks. He was a full time wedding photographer for 10 years before becoming an aurora portrait photographer, which he's done for over 7 years. Other tours offer “free portraits” but not to the level of expertise that Nathan provides. He uses controlled supplemental studio lighting to achieve unmatched quality and sharpness, using techniques he developed over 7 years of practicing aurora portraiture. We also provide complementary gear to help keep you warm and safe: hand/toe warmers, headlamps, water bottles etc. What everything boils down to is great photos and a personal experience. The photos speak for themselves and we want to get you some of your own. Not only will you have a top tier photographer as a guide but Nathan also has more than 20 years of Alaska artic wilderness survival skills and offers expertise in all things Alaska adventure.

Learn of the rich history of Chatanika from one of our guides while travelling through a beautiful boreal forest. We only have 2 tour slots a day to give each group ample time. This is a small family run business and you will be greeted and guided by an owner the entire time here. We do accomidate families/large groups & single travelers! For group size requests over 6 guests please contact Howling Bay Kennel direct through their website. Our weight limit per guest is 250lbs clothed. If you exceed the weight limit, but meet the physical requirements and can comfortably participate, we may be able to accomidate you as a single rider for a double booking fee.
