Stay inside a 360-degree transparent glass dome while waiting for the aurora. The dome is equipped with heating, Wi-Fi, a sofa, table and chairs, speakers, board games, water, snacks, and more. We have a brand new luxury Jeep Grand Wagoneer with triple sunroofs and a Polaris UTV. We can get you where you need to be without a bunch of hiking. You'll be fine on our tours even if you're older than us!! We can tour the beautiful Highways, take a UTV into the wilderness or hang-out in our duck blind on a very secluded lake. It's up to you! Our tour begins with pickup from major hotels in downtown Fairbanks. After about a 30-minute drive, we arrive at our office, Aurora Sphere. There, you’ll gear up with helmets and other equipment before setting off on brand-new Yamaha snowmobiles, led by a professional guide. You’ll ride through snow-covered birch and Christmas tree forests, along a section of the Alaska oil pipeline, and by the Chena River. We work exclusively with local, passionate mushers who view their dog teams as their family, and you will have the chance to understand this incredible sport on your hourlong ride through the snowy forest. You will ride on a genuine dogsled, either seated or standing, as the team of 8 dogs swings through the forest with you and your guide at a comfortable but thrilling pace. You will also have the chance to see the dog kennels, and a replica of a dog-sled race checkpoint, where the competitive mushers stop for fuel and rest on their long winter races. On your reindeer tour, our experienced reindeer handlers will introduce you to the herd of reindeer at Borealis Basecamp, and you can feed, meet, and take pictures with these incredible animals.

Overlooking the Alaska Mountain Range and can see great view from top of the ridge. Amazing view of the dark night sky within only a 40 minutes drive from Fairbanks. Unlimited hot cocoa, coffee, tea, and snacks in the warm cozy rustic Alaskan cabin Also, for an extra fee, We can take pictures of you with the aurora for an additional fee. Aurora is a natural phenomenon and cannot be predicted with 100% accuracy. We cannot guarantee that you will be able to see the aurora borealis, as Weather conditions are constantly changing and other conditions may also change. We would not cancel due to lack of lights or cloudy skies. Even if it snows a little, the tour will not be cancelled because the weather may change. Dangerous weather conditions (heavy snow, rain, icy roads) and emergencies may result in cancellations. Because of the natural things involved we have a NO REFUND policy. The same cancellation policy applies to cancellations due to flight or train delays.

This is a self drive activity, meaning you would need to handle your own transportation to and from our location. Dinner reservations start at 8:00pm for this activity, and included in your booking is a 3-course meal at Latitude 65. Alcohol is not included, but is available for purchase, as are additional add ons and appetizers.  After dinner, you can relax in our lounge space and utilize our free wi-fi while you wait for the Aurora Borealis to make an appearance. At 10pm our staff hold a nightly presentation discussing the science and folklore behind the northern lights, which is a free presentation.  When the aurora makes an appearance, our staff will inform you where to look! We also offer additional photography sessions at $60 per person.  The yurt closes at 2:00am, which is when you would need to depart the property.

Nestled along the Chena River in North Pole, the Aurora Sphere offers a unique opportunity to witness the Northern Lights in Alaska’s only 360-degree transparent glass igloo. Experience the splendor of winter in Alaska from the comfort of a warm railcar, complete with comfortable seats, large picture windows and onboard dining. The Aurora Winter Train travels between Fairbanks and Anchorage, making the southbound 12-hour journey on Sundays, as well as select mid-week departures (Wednesdays and/or Fridays) December through March. Flagstop service is provided along the 50-mile stretch of roadless backcountry south of Hurricane Gulch.
