My mission in child care is to guide children through the obstacles of daily life with a vote of confidence that will allow for a high self-esteem, independence, and grace. I believe that a respectful environment for yourself and your peers can enable play to thrive. Manners and kindness will be focused on each day in group time. I strongly encourage children to use their imaginations to create higher-level play. Video games, tablets, and cellphone play is not allowed at Marvelous Imaginations. Television will be limited to 30 minutes if it is a part of the daily curriculum; some exception will be made for pajama and movie days. Imaginations are like muscles in our bodies. In order for them to grow, you must exercise them to whole new levels! Imagination in childhood will lead to better coping skills, creativity, and social ability into adulthood. Last but certainly not least, I believe children should be well-rounded. Opening each child's world to new things allows for them to like change and expect the unexpected in a positive light. With this in mind, we will change each week's curriculum and the children will have a vote in the topics we choose for the following month. If they have a strong interest in the solar system or how many types of flowers are in the world, we will take all of their ideas and work them into a week long adventure. Although children need self-play time, they also need interactive, learning time each day. Direction and structure are tools I will use to allow your child to learn all that they can while in my care. I look forward to getting to know your child and family. With each child brings a new journey and a more fulfilling day in the life of a professional child care provider!
