I also value the communication and relationship with parents, because that's where everything starts. I know that if the children see a good bond between the parents and me, it is easier for the children to bond with me too. I even encourage parents, when they can, to stay with the kids in my home for an hour or so the first couple of days in the program so that the children ease into it better. I strive for both parents and children to feel comfortable to ensure the highest level of care, growth, and development. I am always there for the parents, whether they need my help as an emergency on a weekend or want to drop by the program anytime during the day. They might catch us doing some of our favorite activities, like circle time where they all can participate, floor activities, or playing music. I treat each child as my own but adhere to what parents say is best. I am very attentive to allergies and am happy to give the children preferred snacks provided by the parents.
