Full-Time Nanny Available

I'm looking for full-time work. I live in the Fair Oaks area. I'm CPR and First Aid certified. I'm currently taking a break from my Associate's Degree in Social and Behavioral Sciences. I generally take my classes on Mondays, Wednesdays, at night, or online. I've been a caregiver for more than 13 years. I've been a nanny, sitter, for girls, boys, and newborn to 13 years of age. My schedule has included in homes, for the summer, and five days a week. I've cared for a 13-year-old girl I've known since birth with type 1 Diabetes, and a 5-year-old girl with Autism. I've worked in a daycare setting, and as a Teacher's Aide. I'm comfortable with all ages. I have many references available upon request along with my resume. I have one lovable Golden Retriever named Nugget. I am a volunteer for a couple of research foundations. I work in both of their offices answering the phones, preparing mailings, and various computer tasks. I have also helped at many of their non-profit events. I speak fluent English. I love to do Yoga, swimming in the summer, and to walk often with my dog. My interest include helping children, finding a cure for diabetes, finding a job, my education, being creative, playing with nature and taking care of my planet. I'm an organized person always making lists and double checking so that I'm always prepared. I love to laugh and I'm positive and caring. I live a healthy life and don't smoke and hardly ever drink except for special occasions. My care-giving philosophy is to make it fun. For example: If the child doesn't want to clean up their toys, make it fun by turning the chore into a game. I would turn on music so we could dance around and sing while we clean up the toys. My best example is if two siblings are fighting you might say something funny like "you're just going to have to get along because there are no exchanges allowed". I actually used this once on my nieces. They stopped fighting because it made them laugh. I find that laughter is the best distraction for children. I have learned that if I can make children laugh that they will actually stop fighting. I also believe that keeping a routine is important for most children. The most popular game among my nieces is hide and seek and I love it too. I enjoy all kinds of activities though; I'm big on going to the park and library. I love teaching my nieces how to accomplish tasks in life like sewing, cooking, and about life in general. I also love animals.
