Since 1991, I have been the owner and the director of the Growing Place Family Child Care licensed with the state of Pennsylvania to care for three to six children in a loving home environment. I provide a Christian-centered preschool curriculum with fun-filled activities for growth, development, and school preparation in mind from my Whitehall home. I operate from a large, separate playroom for the children along with a spacious fenced-in yard with plenty of outdoor equipment. In addition, I serve nutritious lunches and afternoon snacks. Ultimately I provide the same love and care to your children as if they were my own.
My philosophy is to simply let children be who they are: CHILDREN. Childhood is not a race, but a journey, and it has been a blessing to be a part of countless journeys with the many families through the years. I truly treasure the children for the way God made them and it is genuinely a privilege to watch them grow from little infant to school aged children and beyond. Through the years I have shared unbreakable bonds with the families and their children; my practice has truly grown into its name - a distinctly Family Day Care.
I feel that children learn through daily play. At my day care, the swing is always in motion - a symbol of independence and accomplishment for the preschool-aged children. In the autumn, leaves are constantly piling up around the yard - an opportunity for adventure for the little ones . In the springtime, our garden is bursting with vegetables and fruit - a reward of patience and compassion. Everyday, adventures and unforgettable memories are being made while Christian values and morals are taught by means of stories, music, and daily living.
As of 2001, with much prayer and contemplation, I have decided to care for teachers' children - a wonderful benefit for both teachers and myself. Not only do we have the summer off, but we also have ample time to spend with our own children.
