Seeking Part-time Senior Care Provider - I am a 76-year-old man w...
$15 – $20/hr • Part time • Starts Apr 21 • Fort Worth, TX
About who needs care: I am a 76-year-old man with special needs. I am homebound, unable to walk without the aid of a walker or wheelchair. My normal caregiver is having eye surgery on Tuesday 23 April, and I will need help during her recovery period. I am also recovering from a bad ankle sprain, so I will need help with microwave meal preparation, and perhaps some help with cleaning my body and changing clothes. As my ankle heals, I can return to taking care of those needs myself, but I will need help caring for my 2 cats, feeding and cleaning their litter boxes, changing their water and perhaps giving them treats. One cat is very shy and will hide until she gets to know someone, while the other cat is very friendly and loves everyone she meets. Neither cat will hiss or bite, but the friendly one likes to play and uses her mouth and claws when doing that. I try to keep her nails clipped, because they can be very sharp. No problem if my potential caregiver is not a cat person. I am an introvert, so not a big talker. I get along with a just about everyone I meet and I can carry on a conversation with almost anyone about anything. That's it. I've rambles on enough, almost time to quit; just one more thing. I am a liberal Democrat. I don't care if my caretaker is not, just thought I'd get that out there. I am also a Vietnam veteran, for what that's worth.
About the care needs: As long as my caregiver is professional and proficient, I am good with anyone from anywhere. A good sense of humor is always welcome. I'm not religious, so please don't send someone bent on saving souls. I can relate to almost anyone and everyone I meet, but I do value wit, raw intelligence, compassion, curiosity and a wide range of experience and interests.
