About
WTP is a program specifically for two-year-olds and three-year-olds. We focus on learning through play and exploration. Our curriculum is targeted towards the developmental needs of young preschoolers. We use a variety of activities to enhance the learning experience, such as circle time, centers, library, dramatic play, sensory tables, creative movement, music, art, free play, outdoor exploration and cooking.
Each week we will explore a new theme using projects, books and activities to enhance the learning experience.
The students plant, take care of and harvest our WTP organic garden. This year we planted and harvest lots of vegetables and a small pumpkin patch. We use our garden throughout the year to educate ourselves about planting, growing, nature, food sources and all creatures that live and work in the garden.
In the spring we harvest caterpillar larva into butterflies. Once hatched and ready to fly, we release them in our butterfly bushes. We watch and study them through the out the spring, summer and fall!
We follow a very healthy menu trough MCPS. Morning snack, hot lunch and afternoon snack provided by WTP.
The program hours are:
