First opened in 2012, Wiggles & Giggles Child Care started as an in-home facility in New Bern, North Carolina for children of military families. We remained open (and very busy!) for three and a half years until my husband's time ended with the Marine Corps and we moved back to Wooster, Ohio. We have now opened back up and are looking to fill both part time and full time spots! We are located towards Wooster's north end and can accommodate transportation for children that attend Keane Elementary.
Despite living in North Carolina for a few years while my husband served in the military, Wooster has always been the place I call "home." I am a graduate of Smithville High School. I am a mother of two handsome little boys and have been married to my high school sweetheart going on five years. While children are my pride and joy, I also enjoy couponing, baking, and reading through all of my favorite home decor and DIY blogs and magazines.
Throughout the day, we do lots of learning activities to enhance motor skills and other cognitive abilities. I highly enjoy reading books to the children as I feel that book reading is a big part of a child's imagination and brain development. We also will have art/coloring time as well as outdoor time. I have a backyard and outdoor patio with Little Tykes toys of all sorts as well as chalk, balls, and other age appropriate toys. Indoors we have the larger Lego Duplo blocks, puzzles, musical instruments, trucks, cars, and toys that encourage children to use their imagination such as a puppet show, play kitchen and grill stocked with play food.
I provide breakfast, lunch, and snacks with lots of healthy options. Your child is welcomed to bring their own packed meals or snacks as well. Time-outs are used only when necessary and for children 3 years old and younger, I find that redirection is key. I enjoy teaching children all about their shapes, colors, and numbers and can even help with learning how to read for the younger, school age children. If you feel your child is ready, I can help with potty training as well.
