Mimi's International Daycare(les Petites Etoiles)

106 Cimarron Circle Apple Valley, MN

Mimi's International Daycare (Les Petites Etoiles) is a French Immersion daycare/preschool with a fun/learning based international program run by a multilingual provider in my home in Palomino Hills, Apple Valley, Minnesota. My goal is to provide children a fun and loving environment to flourish. I aim to introduce children to different cultures and languages. With parents' approval, children will be taught French. At Les Petites Etoiles, the environment is set up for all children to be taught in three separate but grounded teaching approaches: The High/Scope Approach is one of the approaches used in which children are encouraged to participate and be active in their learning/studying with adult interactions and supports. The Montessori Method is also used and in this approach we incorporate the belief in sensory learning in which children are encouraged to learn by seeing, smelling and tasting in lieu of simply listening to a teacher/provider. In the third teaching approach used at Les Petites Etoiles, The Reggio Emilia Approach, which News Week once noted as being a school system among the ten best school systems in the world, we incorporate co-construction, working on a project together. Teacher/provider and children discuss projects in detail with several questions asked and answered and with different ideas contributed in all directions in order to provide an enriched learning experience and way of life to all children and teacher/providers at the daycare. Having been raised with parents stationed at different American Embassies all over the world and later on marrying a United States Marine, I would love to extend a discount to all military families as a small token of our appreciation for all the sacrifices made on our behalf.

Erin S. says "We've had our kids at Mimi's daycare for almost 3 years now and there's such a comfort in knowing they are in the most caring hands. They are learning to...

I'm starting up my home daycare after take 14 years off. I was a licensed home day care provider from when my twin daughters were born in 1987 to until they graduated from high school in 2006. After they graduated I went back to work full time. But at this time of my life I'm cutting back to part-time, for benefits and going back to something I truly loved, taking care of children (babies).
