About who needs care: My mom has ALS. She is immobile. We transfer her using a lift. She can still feed herself but needs assistance.
Her and my dad live with us.
A typical day for her is morning breakfast with our family. We put her in her lift chair using a hoyer lift. Caregiver arrive at 9a or so. Then it's gameshows with a potty break. Then it's she lays on her side while lunch gets ready. She eats lunch in the kitchen with her caregiver. Then potty break again with a possible nap. Back to the living room. Range of motion exercises. Then end of day.
She needs bathing and hair washing each week.
Our family also appreciates any tidying up you can help us with while here during the downtime of course. Like dishwashing laundry or sweeping etc.
My husband and I work from home so we're here all day most days we just can't give my mom the level of attention she needs while working and in tons of meetings.
We have two young children (both under 5). They go to Mother's Day Out currently but will be home more with either my husband or myself for the summer. We rotate says.
We have a dog. She pretty much stays glued to us while we work.
