About who needs care: My mother has Parkinson's and recently had a stroke. Her Parkinson's causes significant mobility impairment and the stroke caused significant cognition impairment. These conditions are on the background of an extraordinarily headstrong and obstinate personality. About the care needs: Caregiver needs to be exceedingly patient and somewhat "thick-skinned". Caregiver needs to be comfortable with someone who will fall frequently and caregiver needs to be able to lift 150 pounds. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.

I have 2 beautiful kids who are very energetic and love to talk. My oldest does online school for most of the morning and afternoon she will be in class. She will need to get back on at the exact times after her breaks. My youngest is a firecracker for sure but once you put his movies in he can be calm. They are not used to people so will take a little bit to get used to you and will probably be scared. So just be your friendly loving self and they will adore you. . Our ideal caregiver: I want them to treat my kids as if they were their own kids. To know how to be patient and work with them in this new experience. . Additional needs include light housekeeping, being comfortable with pets, having a reliable car, a non-smoker. We could use help with homework or curriculum assistance and structuring activities.

A little more about my father: he can be anxious, pleasant, grouchy. Dementia has him up at night. He likes to get up and walk a little and has some OCD routines. Mostly pleasant but can be grouchy at times. Letting him stay up if he wants with someone to talk to would help his nighttime disposition. I'm looking for someone who is patient, chatty, fond of pets. Understands dementia and can be patient with him. My Father loves to tell his stories of the past. He "resets" every 15-30 min. And will not remember if he just ate or drank something or a conversation that he had. He has been a very good gentle man but this dementia has been a trial on our whole family.
