I am a state licensed CNA that works full-time with dementia patients in a nursing home in Dearborn Heights. I also have my BLS. I love my job and decided this would be the route for me shortly after I got out of foster care because I knew that the world needed more caregivers that actually enjoyed their jobs. On the daily I feed people, give showers, help with transferring in and out of mobility aids, change briefs, dress, provide emotional support, among so many other things. I am considering becoming a travel CNA and doing home care full time instead of facility work. I love animals! I have lived on a farm, volunteered at a horse therapy ranch, fostered kittens, rehabilitated MANY stray cats, and I currently own 4 cats! A list of animals I have owned includes: cats, large and small dogs, rabbits, chickens, goats, mice, rats, snakes and spiders! I do not currently have a car but I am working on it! At the moment I do have reliable transportation for myself though.
