About Zoe

For over 10 years, I've nannied, tutored, babysat, and taught kids and young people. I'm a high school history teacher in CT and have been for 8 years. As an educator, my teaching approach focuses on building confidence and fostering a love for learning, not just memorization. With my Masters in Teaching, I create engaging, supportive, and patient learning environments. I vary my teaching strategies using visual aids, hands-on activities, discussions, and practice problems. I also encourage open communication about what methods work best for you. I have extensive experience with students with learning differences. I find open dialogue allows me to adapt my approach for optimal outcomes, building trust among student, parent, and tutor. Witnessing a student's "aha!" moment is incredibly rewarding! I have a car and am comfortable tutoring at your home, online, or at a local library.
