I was employed by the Child Development Center for Naval Station Newport, which then I decided to branch out and also nanny for multiple families personally. I am bi-lingual in Portuguese and English, I know basic sign language. I have been both CPR and First Aid certificated. I have experience with lesson planning and love to engage in fun yet educational ways to work with children in order to strengthen their motor, cognitive, language, and physical skills. I worked with Zaura at the Navy Child and Youth Programs Child Development Center where Zaura was a program assistant. Zaura worked in all age groups but was particularly skilled at working with toddlers . Zaura was an asset to the program, assisting classroom teachers with creative projects and lesson planning. Zaura took the place of a classroom teacher out on extended leave, completing developmental assessments and family conferences as well as planning and implementing engaging age appropriate experiences for children. She completed extensive professional development training including child abuse prevention and identification, blood borne pathogens, ergonomics, child development topics and inclusionary supports (to name a fraction). Not only is Zaura skilled but she is a kind and thoughtful person and is a nurturing and warm caregiver. She will be an asset you your family!
