About Yifan

I'm a bilingual Mandarin and English speaker based in the NYC area with a graduate background in psychology and several years of experience supporting students with language learning and study skills. My teaching style is patient, flexible, and supportive. I enjoy helping beginners and conversational learners build confidence step by step in a low-pressure environment, and I try to adapt lessons based on each student's learning style and goals. I value communication, organization, and creating a comfortable learning experience where students feel encouraged to ask questions and learn at their own pace. Outside of tutoring, I also have experience caring for multiple cats, including shy and sensitive pets, which has taught me the importance of patience and consistency.
