About Yanissa

I'd describe my personality as joyful, empathetic, and caring. I like working with kids because I see them as sacred individuals that not only have much to offer, with their bright, creative, questioning young souls, but also deserve safe spaces where they can shine. I have seen the impact of encouraging a child and I am honored to be part of any child's journey. I'm looking for a job that offers me flexibility as I balance my current farming job, tempered by the stability of the relationships between the parents and I. I started working with kids when I was 16! I was a camp counselor for children in Miami at a golf summer camp that taught both able bodied and handicapped children. I also taught children with my own educational non-profit focused on environmental conservation of the Everglades. Since then, I have regularly babysat for children, from babies to pre-teens. In my spare time, I like to play soccer, spend time with my friends, and stretch out a long day on my yoga mat.
