About Yahaira

I am a 26-year-old student who attends John Jay college of Criminal Justice majoring in Sociology. I currently work for the Department of Education (DOE) as a Paraprofessional in early childhood in a classroom setting from grades K-8. I generally work with children, who have disabilities ranging from autism, ADHD, emotionally disturbed, etc. Working with the DOE has taught me important skills such as, working with multiple students at a time, finding different ways of communicating, and the importance of using positive reinforcements. Working with children has shaped me into a nurturing, creative, and disciplined individual. These qualities will help create a friendly bond, bring homework to be engaging and understanding, and have all chores and bed times met, and much more. I am excited to continue my career path in child care through babysitting.
