With the onset of dementia a husband has become more dependent on others. In about three years the disease has progressed to another level. I have helped with a supervision the most of the time when a wife was not available. My responsibilities were: made sure he was comfortable at all times, had a proper meal when needed, used a bathroom when scheduled, went for a walk when weather permitted, maintained a safe environment. He enjoyed dinning out on occasions. I would provide a Criminal Record Check, if asked.
