I have 8 children of my own, my youngest is 18 so I'm starting to get the empty nest syndrome. I am a disabled RN. But I still try to stay active. Kids love me, I have kids and young adults all over the county that call me mom. I volunteered for T. M. A. D. for at least 5 years working with teenagers. I taught home economics which I think children need more of these days. I was the food director, the art director, I cooked Wednesday night meals for the children, their families if they wanted to come and other staff members. I chaperoned a lot of functions. I took the teenagers out into the community to volunteer at places, which is a veterans activity center near Carbondale. I have lots of experience with all ages of children. Years ago in Mt Vernon I was a Girl Scout troop leader. I myself volunteer and help people as I can. I have a car, but I wouldn't want to transport anybody in it. It has no heat.
