About Virginia

I enjoyed volunteering with elder care programs through high school and college. After college I started working at a palliative care facility and when my grandmother moved in to the same facility it was nice to have the opportunity to be around her more often and do extra care before and after work. I also had a private patient whose daughter was friends with my mom. Her care was mostly repositioning her and helping her eat but it was lovely to be able to be with her and help the family with her end of life care. She was mostly nonverbal but had this sweet way of pulling and pushing on your arms to communicate. It's been a while since I have been in a paid position for this kind of care but I've continued to check on church and family friends, run errands and volunteer when able. I enjoy being a safe space and helping support families however that looks to them.
