During my four years of experience in the medical field as a unit clerk, I gained a strong understanding of how a healthcare team operates and how essential communication and organization are to patient care. In this role, I served as the central point of coordination on the unit, managing patient charts, organizing admissions and discharges, answering phones, and supporting nurses, physicians, and other staff with critical information. I developed strong multitasking skills as I balanced administrative responsibilities with the fast-paced needs of the unit. My time as a unit clerk taught me how to remain calm under pressure, maintain accuracy with documentation, and provide compassionate support to patients and families. Overall, this experience strengthened my professionalism, broadened my knowledge of clinical environments, and deepened my commitment to working in healthcare.
