About Veronica

I am certified to teach Middle Grades ELA, K-12 ESOL, K-12 Special Education, and K-12 Reading in the state of Georgia. I've taught students with mild and moderate intellectual disabilities, ADHD, Speech/Language Impairments, and Autism. I've also taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade ELA in the general education setting and to English Language Learners. I am half Spanish (my father is Spanish and I was born in Spain) and I speak Spanish fluently. I also have training in Orton-Gillingham (Intermediate level). I'm currently taking a break from teaching in the public education setting, but I assist a family in homeschooling their four children, and work as an aide/mentor for a young adult with Down Syndrome in the afternoons.

She is organized and prepares detailed and thoughtful lesson plans. She cares deeply about the students she works with, and works hard to help them to succeed. Veronica is thoughtful and tailors lessons and teaching strategies to the individual needs of the student she is working with. She is a wonderful teacher and person to work with!
