Hello! Folks with special needs & disabilities are constantly around me in my daily life. I am accustomed to meltdowns, stimming, deafness & signing, blindness & sighted guiding, feeding, disabled advocacy, & a wide array experiences including individuals with varying physical & mental/neurological needs. Learning someone, their mannerisms, & their needs is important in any sort of caregiving or tutoring role. That said, paying attention to the particulars of an individual is extremely imperative when caring for someone(s) with special needs, as disabled folks need spaces & people who work around them to provide what they need to function & flourish.
