I discovered my passion for caregiving over the course of 3 years as a DSP in a home of 10 residents who possessed varying intellectual and physical disabilities. The spectrum of communication styles and levels of independence I supported all under one roof fostered my adaptability and cognizance to the fact that all individuals are entitled to a tailored approach! A core value I've established as a caregiver is the fostering of safe, honest and open communication (in whatever form that may take, as not all of us are verbal!) Authentic connection and gradual natural companionship is crucial to the reception of comfortable care! Lets get to know each other ( : Outside of caregiving, I am an avid food and music enthusiast. Whether it's cooking up a new recipe I've learned, or jamming to some classic tunes together - I love bringing those personal passions into my work and sharing these moments of enrichment with those I care for!
