About Vanessa

Hello! My name is Vanessa and I am currently a rising senior at MIT and a tutor with several years of experience in most elementary school - high school subjects as well as SAT/ACT/PSAT test prep, and college application/essay consulting. I am based in Los Angeles for the spring semester, and accepting both remote & in-person clients. As a tutor, I bring a knack for creatively & intuitively explaining challenging concepts and a contagious curiosity and sense of humor that keeps students engaged. For academic subjects, I prioritize developing robust problem solving and study habits. For college app and personal essay worshipping, I prioritize developing foundational storytelling skills and your unique voice. Additionally as someone with ADHD, I bring empathy and tried-and-true teaching methods to students who have ADHD or may otherwise need more specialized support when it comes to executive function.
