About Vanessa

Hi! My name is Vanessa , and I'm a local tutor based in Essex Fells, NJ. I recently graduated from Swarthmore College with a B. A. in Anthropology. I'm currently pursuing my master's degree at NYU in Experimental Humanities & Social Engagement, where I commute to classes in the city Monday through Wednesday. I bring strong academic experience in writing, research, and media studies, and I love helping students develop confidence in their studies especially in subjects like English, history, social sciences, and writing. I've worked as an editor for an undergraduate law review and produced a full-length ethnographic documentary, so I'm especially excited to support students with creative or research-based projects. I also played college basketball for four years, so I understand the importance of discipline, time management, and motivating others to reach their goals. I look forward to helping your student thrive both academically and personally!
