To handle kids behavior and encourage good actions in them, as good habits start with the first steps and they are apt to learn anything. So I always focused on their positive development. An example of this is a child saying that he cannot do a simple thing, like putting on socks. On the first day I can teach him/her and ask her to try it. Any evolution I give a compliment, like "thank you for trying", "next time you'll get it" ,"knew you could do it" you're already a big boy" and in the end he'll feel so proud he'll want to put on his socks and also the shoes alone every day. With babies, for example, I learned to encourage them to be affectionate and also to draw attention to actions that are unfavorable, such as throwing things. Even very young they are able to understand what we say.
