About Valissa

I love working with children! I recently finished up my time as a 5th grade teacher for Mesa Public Schools. This is my 7th year as a certified teacher, I previously taught in preschool for two years, kindergarten for three years and I just finished my second year in 5th grade. I have professional development hours in helping students with low academic, and challenging behaviors, and attention spans get one-on-one help. I specialize in intervention strategies for students in reading, phonemes phonics, and early mathematical skills. I've decided to leave the classroom in hopes of spending some more quality time with my children while they are young. I'd love to keep up my ability to help students achieve better study habits and grow academically while out of the classroom full-time through tutoring and one-on-one intervention help.
