About Valerie

I've been an elementary school teacher for 10 years, and one of my favorite parts of teaching is helping students understand something they once thought was hard. I work with students in Math and English, breaking things down in ways that make sense for them and helping them build confidence along the way. Every child learns differently, and I take the time to figure out what works best for each student. My goal is to make learning feel less frustrating and help students feel more confident in what they can do. I want kids to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and trying again. I know how important it is for parents to feel good about the person working with their child, too. I believe in keeping communication open and working together to help each student grow. I love seeing a child go from I can't do this to, I get it!, and I'd love the opportunity to help your child experience that, too.
