About Valena

We had a great experience with Valena as our babysitter. She cared for our child for 1 year and 3 months, from when he was 20 months old until he was 3 years old. She was very reliable and made herself available most of the time when we needed help. She was always on time, and if she had an appointment or was not feeling well, she let us know in advance, which we really appreciated. She was very patient and caring with our child. When she started, our child was non-English bilingual and was still learning English. She also made an effort to learn some of the non-English words he spoke so she could better understand and connect with him. She had a good sense of authority with him, setting gentle boundaries while still being kind and patient. She allowed him to enjoy simple activities, like watching water outside, and was happy to read the same book many times. Even when reading children’s books in a non-English language, she did a wonderful job using the pictures to understand the story and explain it in English. Because of her, our child learned many new English words. She also always made sure he was safe when they went for walks or played outside. Her communication was excellent—she kept us updated every day by text with his schedule, which gave us peace of mind. She also communicated clearly whenever our child had minor scrapes, so we always knew what happened and how he was doing. We truly appreciate her help and would recommend her to other families looking for a kind, patient, and dependable babysitter.
