My job at Merakey (Formerly allegheny Valley schools) was working with clients that had special needs ranging from autism, Down syndrome, in wheelchairs, had feeding tubes and ets. I was assigned a group of four young men ranging from 18 to 45. Depending on coverage I could would assigned up to 6 people who I would have to look after for the shift. I was responsible for bathing the clients and checking and changing them when in bed. Another task was making sure the clients were fed dinner and their PM snack. Once in bed, I would then have 30 minutes checks to see if the young men needed changed and make sure they were repositioned every 2 hours until my shift was over. If any of my clients were wet or needed assistance it was my duty to make sure that they got the assistance they needed in a timely manner. At the end of each shift I was tasked with filling out each clients goal plan books and making sure all of there BMs were marked in the BM book and all data enter into the computer.
