My brother and sister were both born with severe cerebral palsy, so I've been immersed in caregiving for as long as I can remember. As a grandmother of five wonderful grandchildren and a mother to three children, I've dedicated my time to working with individuals with Down syndrome and providing support to adults in caregiving roles. For the past two years, I've been a nanny, a role I truly cherish. Recently, I learned that my current position will be ending due to circumstances beyond my control. The father of the children I care for is facing a very difficult time as he battles cancer, and he needs to accommodate his parents by moving them into our tiny house. While this news brings me a heavy heart, I am hopeful about finding another nanny position that allows me to continue to follow my passion.
