About Tiana

In my freshman/sophomore year of college, I answered an ad to assist an elderly man with daily living tasks . This worked out well. I also worked as a Direct Service Provider (DSP) in a group home setting to help pay college tuition. I recently worked part-time for Community Living Options (five years), also as a DSP, in a group home setting. This home consisted of four men, all 50 years old and older. Two were non-verbal. Two in wheelchairs. My most recent commitment was working with an 82-year-old gentleman these past two years. He needed total in-home care due to a stroke. I miss him a lot. Apart from raising two kids on my own, I find service to our elders to be very fulfilling.
