Hello! My name is Theresa, and I've been around people with special needs/disabilities my entire life. I have 9 siblings, 7 of whom have a large variety of special needs. Since I grew up with my siblings, I never thought that they were lesser than me, and I became very protective of them. A lot of people who didn't know how to communicate with and care for disabled people respectfully, and while I have patience for that, it can be tiring to educate everyone. My first job was also as a home health aide, for a woman with spina bifida and a traumatic brain injury. I worked there for 5 years, and I learned a lot about taking care of non-family members, and adults who can't just be picked up when they're too tired to move. I would love to work with kids again, disabled or otherwise and if you think I might be a good fit for you and your family, please let me know!
