I have taught special needs individuals from infants through adults since 1985. My first experience was in high school working in a special needs preschool and babysitting a Downs Syndrome toddler. I volunteered with special needs individuals of all school ages and was a substitute in adult group homes while in college. Then I worked with the handicapped from birth-age five for 5 years and provided respite care for several toddlers. After raising my children (while tutoring, having a day care, and substitute teaching), I am looking for summer work, and possibly a full-time position. I am just finishing a long term substitute position working with typical and special needs preschoolers. I have worked with those who have a variety of diagnosed and un-diagnosed labels including Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, Autism spectrum, ADHD, Downs Syndrome, and developmental delays. I am not available for employment prior to June 3, 2019 but am available for evening interviews.
