I am a mother of 4 (ages 11, 12 & 13). My oldest daughter passed away in 2016 at the age of 6. She was born prematurely, suffered an anoxic brain injury, and suffered from Cerebral Palsy as a result. Therefore, I have hands-on experience with trachs (including suctioning), ventilators, feeding tubes (G-tube and GJ), feeding pumps/bolus feeds, respiratory care (nebulizer treatments), incontinence care (changing diapers), repositioning, and giving multiple medications (orally and via tube). While I do not currently have experience in these areas with an adult patient, I do feel that I could provide compassionate and empathetic caregiving due to my experience working with my own special needs child. My other three children are diagnosed ADHD, so I have experience with that as well.
