About Tessa

I have a BA in Journalism and an MFA in Creative Writing, plus more than six years of experience teaching students both in person and online from elementary age through high school. I taught creative writing with Take My Word for It! In San Francisco, and later founded The Writing Club, where I developed curriculum and taught elementary students. As a Senior Writing Instructor with Written Out Loud, I taught writing and storytelling both online and in person. Most recently, I worked as a substitute teacher at an independent school in Los Angeles, teaching grades 7-12 with an emphasis on English and creative writing. I can help with reading comprehension, essays, grammar, editing, creative writing, and homework. I especially enjoy helping students who feel stuck or intimidated by building writing skills and confidence. I've recently moved to Fort Lauderdale and I'm eager to meet new families!
