About Tessa Marie

Hi there! My name is Tessa, a single mom to two little kids, two little dogs, and two little cats. We all just moved to Ukiah this summer to be closer to family. When my elderly mom (who would smack me for describing her as "elderly") broke her ankle and foot after falling, she was unable to care for or even move herself for 6 weeks. Since Im a single mom of 2, it was a breeze! I provided mobility assistance (lifting her - with her help from upper body - from the bed to wheelchair, wheelchair to stool, stool to toilet or bath and back), medication management, cooking, shopping, dressing, keeping company, entertaining, transportation, personal care. The only thing that was hard compared to kids is that kids have no shame and little pride - I had to convince my mom I *did not care* about anything that happens in bathrooms with assistance, and that I genuinely wanted to, and took pride in, taking care of her. And I am really good at it, too!
