About Tessa

I'd describe my personality as responsible, energetic, and caring. I absolutely love working with kids. They're brutally honest, endlessly creative, and way smarter than most people realize. There's something really special about being around children, they remind me to see the world differently, and I love encouraging creativity and curiosity. I started working with kids when I was around 11 at a family camp for Cal families. In my free time, I love reading, baking, and hiking around San Diego. I'm naturally very protective when it comes to kids, their safety and wellbeing are always my top priority. My skills include building connections, handling challenging behavior, and respectful communication. I genuinely connect well with children. I'm especially good with strong-willed children. Having been a spirited kid myself, I stay calm and patient, and I genuinely believe there's no such thing as a bad child. I also talk to kids like real people and respect their intelligence.
