About Terra

I'm a former classroom teacher and Orton-Gillingham trained literacy specialist who works with young children as they learn to read and write. My teaching combines playful, hands-on learning with explicit instruction grounded in the Science of Reading. I've spent more than 10 years supporting young learners in literacy settings and helping children build the foundational skills needed to become capable readers and writers. After a decade in schools, I wanted to create a learning environment that felt slower, more intentional, and more joyful. Terra Libre Literacy grew from the idea that children learn best when they feel relaxed, curious, and free to explore. My dedicated instructional space is designed for movement, conversation, games, and multi-sensory learning, and I bring those same principles into my virtual sessions as well. My goal is to create a calm, welcoming environment where literacy learning feels engaging and approachable, whether we meet in person or virtually.
