Some of my most memorable, meaningful, and rewarding jobs have been taking care of special needs patients.... be they children, teens, young adults, or seniors. I have always seemed to have a special bond with these patients! I was a psychology major in college and that is what I hold my degree in. So I know how to understand these patients; even when others say they can't be understood. For me, it's just a matter of taking the time to get to know them as an individual person, and not just someone who has special needs! God doesn't make mistakes!! And I look at these patients as some of his greatest contributions to the world. Just like the most beautiful of flowers, you just have to take a moment to recognize them!
