I have been working in childcare for 30 years doing everything from working in large licensed home day cares to teaching preschool for 6 years. I became a full-time nanny in August 2008 and continued until August 2010 when my contract ended. I love working in childcare because I love watching young minds grow and discover new things. In September of 2002, I took ECE 1: Intro Early Childhood Ed. I also took Child Family Community, Independent Study, Guiding Children's Behavior, and Human Development: Life Span. I did respite care taking care of families in crisis situations for about a year and a half. I also worked from 1984-1990 at a licensed home daycare/foster care caring for children of various ages starting from infants to school age as well as supervising teenage foster children ages 15-18 years of age until the owner moved in 1990. I also worked from 1980-2000 at a licensed home daycare caring for children of various ages from infants to school age until the owner's retirement on July 2, 2000. I worked from July 5, 2000-July 2002 at another licensed home daycare caring for children of various ages from infants to school age until I left that employment on July 6, 2002. I worked at another preschool as the head teacher for six years preparing weekly lesson plans as well as implementing school curriculum. I started working there on July 7, 2002 in Beginners 1 teaching 2-year-olds and then I taught 3 and 4-year-olds for five years in the Intermediates 2 until January 2008. I also worked as a substitute teacher for various Montessori schools in March 2008. I worked as a nanny for the Delaney family caring for their 2 beautiful daughters for years from August 2008 until my contract ended in August 2010.
