About Tera

Hi! I'm Tera, a dedicated educator with 17 years of experience helping children grow in confidence and ability. I specialize in the Barton Reading & Spelling System, an Orton-Gillingham-based, multisensory phonics program designed especially for students with dyslexia or reading challenges-but highly effective for any struggling learner, regardless of age. I enjoy tutoring because it gives me an opportunity to do what I love, which is to teach! I love working alongside children and seeing the growth in their personal and educational lives. I began tutoring during my first year of teaching, 17 years ago. In my spare time, I like to spend time with my four children, my golden retriever and serving in my community. My skills include strong parent communication, proven track record in student improvement and building personalized student plans for success.
