About Temekia

My mother had growing dementia and became easily disoriented and confused and therefore it was very critical that she be able to stay in her apartment and not be moved to a facility. We had to let one of the previous caregivers go for poor performance. We were lucky enough to find Temekia. We checked out her references and they were impeccable. She had recently been caring for a woman in a similar situation as my mother and the family was very pleased with her compassion and attentiveness in a very challenging environment. From my first conversation with her i could feel Temekia's warmth. After a few more family members interviewed Temekia we hired her. She was everything we had hoped for. She worked as an around the clock aide which it takes a very special person to do since you're on call at all times. She was very attentive to my mother. She helped her wash, get dressed, prepared meals for her, made sure her meds were being routinely given and spoke to and kept my mother socially engaged. Even though my mother passed away at 96 years old and Temekia came on board 7 months before my mother died I truly believe she added months of good quality of life to my mother. If not for Temekia my mother would have been forced into a home which she was vehemently against. Instead she got to stay at her home with a sense of dignity. We are quite grateful to Temekia for her commitment, compassion, honesty and sense of humor throughout her time with us.
