About Taryn

Empowering middle school students to become independent critical thinkers is the foundation of my teaching practice. With three years of experience, I specialize in English and Art, helping students master complex concepts by breaking them into manageable steps. I assess individual learning styles through active observation and by tailoring my approach to include visual aids, hands-on activities, and meaningful discussions. I keep students engaged by connecting lessons to their personal interests and celebrating every small victory along the way. I believe clear, open communication with both you and your student is essential for setting expectations and achieving academic goals. I am happy to meet at your local library for our sessions, and I am comfortable working in homes with pets.
