About Tara

My journey with care started from a deeply personal experience. Raised by my grandfather, I often found myself doing the job of a direct support professional. Cleaning, shopping, cooking, driving to appointments, translating what doctors said, and spending time together were just a natural part of our relationship. In my 20s I worked as a direct support professional in Washington state for severely developmentally disabled adults. This was 24 hour in home care shifts. During this time I had the opportunity to plan, execute and accompany my 76-year-old, physically disabled, client to Hawaii for a week. This was a beautiful and inspiring experience. I am currently 29 years old and have been living in asheville for two years. I am originally from Philadelphia and was raised in Daytona beach Florida. In my personal life I enjoy making music, drinking tea and coffee, and learning about herbalism, dance, yoga and philosophy.
