About Tamra

Currently working as an Engagement Companion Specialist for a senior with dementia. I take her on outings that align with her interests and facilitate interactions that bring her joy, through exercise, music, animals, children, art, nature and dementia friendly activities. I have a Bachelor's degree in Mech. Engineering, but I put my career on hold to raise 2 kids. With each stage of childhood, came re-evaluation of a return to work. But the evolving challenges of a child with developmental delays and the rewards of flexible volunteer work, justified our single income lifestyle. Now that my kids are living on college campuses, I'm focused on contributing to their tuition, through rewarding work in my community. I'm also pursuing things that bring me joy: time with family and friends, babysitting, pickleball, and microbiome health research.
